Local Catholic radio station Archangel Radio was voted best AM radio station in this year’s “Nappie Awards.” The Nappie Awards are sponsored by the weekly independent newspaper “Lagniappe,” which is distributed in Mobile and Baldwin counties.
Archangel Radio has been nominated in the past, but this is the first time to win the award.
“This is a real testament to our loyal listeners who are helping us spread the word of Catholic radio in Mobile and Baldwin,” said Ellen Taylor, executive director and station manager. “Also, maybe just maybe, we are winning over fans who are hungry for the truth and love the thoughtful, engaging programs.
“We believe we have found the right mix of local and national programs. ‘LA Catholic Morning,’ our local show on at 7 a.m., has found its voice with co-hosts Todd Sylvester and Michele McAloon. In addition, we head into the fall featuring both McGill-Toolen and St. Michael Catholic High Schools with Thursday and Friday live football games.”
Archangel Radio broadcasts on 1410-AM and 94.5-FM. It is available on the Archangel Radio app, Tune-In radio or
