Msgr. Joseph W. Lyons celebrated 60 years of priestly ministry at a special celebration held at Eulalia Church in Winchester, Ma. Fr. David Tellier and Father Patrick Gallagher gave the honoree a special tribute.
Dr. Thomas L. Doyle was honored by the 1973 Class at Catholic High School, Montgomery, for all he had done for them as principal. Presenting the honor was Jane Mastin, class president.
Mark Priede, former Spring Hill Badger golfer and a 1964 graduate, was named both the men’s and women’s head coach.
Fr. Patrick Maher celebrated his 43rd anniversary of priestly ordination at a reception held at St. Bede, Montgomery.
John Walton, president of Central Bank of the South, Montgomery, presented a check for $48,000 to help repair the St. Jude Apartments.
Jerome Henley, District Deputy of the Mobile Knights of Columbus, presented a $2,000 check to Dr. Donna Power, chairman of McGill-Toolen’s Adaptive Education Program to be used for the program.
The Upward Bound program at Spring Hill College produced significant results in its 26th year including a 100 percent college admission rate by Mobile area high school seniors enrolled in the program.
